Grove City Homecoming

I'll admit it...one of the reasons that I wanted to go to Homecoming this year was to show off my super-cutie patootie girl to anyone and everyone I went to college with. Sure, it takes 5 hours (6 or 7 with a baby!) to get there, and it was 80+ degrees, and gas costs a lot of money....but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Steve and I had a great time staying with Kevin and Alison and Brad and Kelli in Pittsburgh. My brother had a great time introducing his niece to his buddies (I'm not the only one!). Steve got to play in the alumni lacrosse game (#17):

One Hundredth Post

Can you believe it? One hundred. I wasn't sure about becoming a blogger at first, but it seems that I like it after all!

In grade school, teachers always celebrate day 100. Being a teacher (well, trained as one, anyway) it would go against my very nature not to celebrate the centennial Deterding family blog entry!

My first thought: 100 pictures of Grace? That might take awhile (but believe me, we DO have plenty of pictures!)

Petition for 100 reader comments? Ha, I flatter myself:) No.

List 100 ways God has blessed us since the first post on August 24, 2006? That would be a fun exercise...

I don't know that I'll make you read all 100, but here's a big one: Since post #1, the Lord has grown Grace from this beautiful tiny little baby

to this beautiful little girl!

Six Months

Nurse April

Grace, my mom, and I went down to Liberty University Tuesday and Wednesday to attend my sister April's Ribbon Ceremony. All sophomore nursing students receive the blue ribbon to celebrate their accomplishments in getting to that point in the nursing program.

April gave us a tour of the Nuring Lab on campus, and we had a great time checking it out. Here is a picture of the high-tech dummies used to practice on:

My Dad requested lots of pictures of his girl in her nursing uniform and of the ceremony, so those are soon to come in a slideshow...

Jellystone

We enjoyed a fun and relaxing weekend camping trip with my former church, New Covenant, at Jellystone Park in Quarryville, PA.

There's nothing quite like "roughing it" with dozens of family and family in Christ! We weathered a little rain and fog on Saturday morning, but by the afternoon the sun was shining and we spent time fishing in Skunk Hollow Lake (provacative name, isn't it?), playing football and frisbie, going out for ice cream, building campfires, sharing a huge pot-luck meal, having good conversation, and worshipping together Sunday morning.
