Daughters!

It has been revealed that Steve and I have TWO daughters!

I had an ultrasound Tuesday morning, and the technician says the baby looks like a girl. I'm sure Grace would be beyond excited if she knew what was about to happen in 20 1/2 weeks!
All little body parts were present and accounted for, and I'll receive a full report on Monday morning when I have my next OB appointment. We're heading into the really fun weeks of pregnancy, when Daddy can feel the little kicks and I have the energy to care for the big sister! I'll put up the ultrasound pictures as soon as we get them scanned!

Here's the 4 month belly shot. Also in the picture are my friend Laura and her 5-month old baby girl belly!

And speaking of the big sister, Grace Olivia is fast approaching her FIRST birthday! Absolutely unbelievable. It's been a whole year since this. She suddenly seems like such a big girl. Grace climbs stairs (and is working on learning to come back down!), loves her belly button, has entire conversations in her own little babble language (it sounds like she'll just burst out in English at any time now), points to everything and says "that?", loves to cuddle with her parents and grandmothers, wrestles and tumbles every night before bed, and has just learned to flick her lips with her hand to make funny sounds come out. We can't wait for a summer full of running around in the yard with her!

Jimmy & Laura Tie The Knot

Steve's brother Jimmy and his fiancee Laura were married this past Saturday! It was a lovely, intimate wedding at Fiore Winery. Welcome to the family, Laura!

Enjoy some pictures of the happy couple and their happy day!

Poppy Awarded the Bronze Star

Grace traveled to Goucher College on Tuesday to watch her Poppy (Heather's dad) recieve the Fire Department's Bronze Star at an Commendations Ceremony. She was so proud!

Here is an excerpt from the BaltimoreSun.com:

Five firefighters awarded Bronze Star: The county Fire Department gave its third-highest award, the Bronze Star, to four career firefighters and one volunteer firefighter at its annual promotional and commendations ceremony this week at Goucher College. Also recognized were a 15-year-old baby sitter, volunteer firefighters from Reisterstown and Glyndon, and 34 career personnel who were promoted in the past year. The Bronze Star recipients were: Lt. John Meyers IV and Lt. Daniel Kluge from Eastview Fire Station; Lt. Timothy Wilson and Fire Specialist Leroy Edmunds III from Fullerton Fire Station; and Chief Jerry Ertwine from Middle River Volunteer Ambulance-Rescue Co.The five men were part of the crews responding to a tractor-trailer that overturned in a collision last April on Interstate 95 between Moravia Road and the Baltimore City-county line. They spent at least two hours trying to free the driver from the wreckage while dealing with diesel-soaked soil, darkness and an unstable light pole, said Fire Department spokeswoman Elise Armacost.

Here is a picture of the accident. Poppy is in the middle wearing the blue helmet:

Congratulations, Poppy!

Cousins!

I had the opportunity to take some photos of these cute kiddos on Tuesday. They're long-distance cousins and are obviously enjoying their time together! The weather was quite blustery and rainclouds were on the horizon, but that didn't stop them from hamming it up for the camera! Enjoy this peek into their photo shoot...

Still a lot of editing to do, but here's a tiny sneak peek! I'll put up a slideshow when the editing's finished!

Spring

Spring is in the air!
Steve left this morning for a lacrosse team trip to North Carolina where it is supposed to be 70 degrees today! So it's just us girls for the next two days. I'm prepping for Matt and Emily's wedding tomorrow-- I'm one of the photographers! Not the assistant, but THE photographer, along with Mandy. The "pre-game nerves" are there, but I know it'll be such a fun day! I'm looking forward to sharing some of the pictures with you all!

Heather Grace Photography

I AM LIVE!
~
~
It's still a work in progress, but it's exciting to have something online for the world to see. Please let me know what you think-- leave a comment with your thoughts and suggestions! (note: music is coming...I'm waiting to get my hands on permission to use copyrighted material. I was too anxious to get my site out to bother waiting for the go-ahead!)
~
A special thanks goes out to my beautiful daughter, Grace, for graciously allowing me to use so many of her pictures to build my site. As a budding artist, I haven't had enough subjects to make my portfolio more diversified! Lord willing that will be fixed eventually, but it's been a fun experience even getting to this point.
~
Enjoy!

A Few Things

1. Grace is spending the night at my parents' house tonight, and my dad already picked her up this morning after he got off his night shift. In other words, part of me is bored and just wants to play around with Photoshop all morning, and the other part of me is telling myself that I wouldn't be bored if I'd do some spring cleaning or something. I'll get around to it...then I'll take some pictures to show everyone what our new house looks like with all of our stuff in it...

2. ...but first, I wanted to show you one of Grace's newest tricks. She can drink using a straw! It's now her preferred method

3. I also want you all to know that my NEW WEBSITE for my budding photography business, Heather Grace Photography, is about to go LIVE! I've been meaning to do this for about 5 months now. Stay tuned, I should get it up before another 5 months passes by.

4. I never posted these great family pictures taken by my friend Mandy in November. Enjoy!
