We're grateful that our family braved the dreaded Maryland humidity to come to Leah's backyard birthday cookout! We've been blessed with a school campus for a backyard (and an abundance of picnic tables) so it seems a shame to let them sit outside empty during the summer...The cupcakes, however, had to stay inside with the air conditioning.
I have to gush about Steve-- it was his idea to make bumble bees out of jelly beans. His cookbook will be released this winter with an introduction by Martha Stewart. The boys enjoyed some rousing games of cornhole.
Grace made sure that everyone in the room could see the gifts that were opened. Here, she's explaining that this puzzle piece is indeed a giraffe.

Yeah! What a sweet family party! Kudos to Steve for the cupcake idea...maybe he should make them next time too!
Wow! What great decorations and cupcakes, etc!!! You two need to do a joint cookbook/decorating guide! Happy Birthday, Leah:)
