Two Months and Growing

10 lbs. 8 oz.
22 1/4 inches long

It seems like Avery girl has been around longer than 2 months... although maybe it's all the extra wake-time hours we've had since March 27!  (Or maybe we all just love having her around so much)  HOWEVER, the little sweetie pie has been sleeping through the night for the past couple of weeks!  Extra exclamation points!!

She's gurgling and cooing and loves looking at faces, especially, it seems, faces of bearded men?  She sucks her thumb, loves her mommy, is sporting her new bum genius cloth diapers, enjoys bath time, and is getting to be extra-smiley and wiggly.

HAPPY 26th BIRTHDAY UNCLE MATT!

We love you and miss you and hope that your Ugandan internet provider makes it possible for you to see these birthday wishes from your nieces.  Time to open up your gifts!  I asked them what they wanted to say to you and included a picture of the things they made for you this morning.

From Leah, " I want to say that we have two new big girl swings,"and a picture of you:

From Grace, "Happy Birthday", and a Play-Doh cake:

From Avery, some spit:

Have a great day!

Guess What Leah Can Do?

She's officially in underpants and Avery is officially in cloth diapers.  Big changes are going on around here, people.

Foot Fetish

Grace loves feet, what can I say?  And now that there are two very tiny, cute, soft, sweet little feet in the family, we find Grace doing this:

and this:

several times each and every day.

Grace the Ballerina

We're so proud of Grace (and her friend), who were the only two (out of a class of only three!) girls to perform their dance during this morning's ballet recital!  She performed so well in a situation that could have been very intimidating... look at how cute those two little sunflower girls are on that big stage:

Grace has been in a ballet class through the county Department of Recreation and has been looking forward to the recital for a long time now.  The biggest reason for her excitement was that the girls were instructed to wear their recital costumes with blue eyeshadow, red lipstick, blush....and no undies under the leotard:)

Grandma and Pa came to watch...

both sisters were in the audience...

and Poppy, Mom Mom, and Aunt April were there, too!

Here's a video clip of part of the dance routine.  Grace is on the left:

Our Meadow

A couple weeks ago, I noticed that the lawn service guys didn't mow the grassy area between our yard and the neighborhood that backs up to the school property.  The girls and I moseyed on over one day to check it out, and lo and behold we had our very own "meadow".  Grab the Nikon as fast as you can and take advantage of this, Heather!!!

I am forever on a search for a good photo shoot location.  And I really like long grass and weeds... and adorable girls frolicking in long grass and weeds...

They could have done this all day...

Unfortunately I'm a tad allergic to long grass and weeds.  After giving in to a sneezing fit, I had to insist that we take a break for a little while and go check on baby Avery (napping in the house), but not before one last twirl~

She Smiles

Avery is almost 6 weeks old~ she's 9 1/2 lbs, 22 inches long, and hanging out in the 50th percentile.  Her sisters are still very much into her!  Now, if I could only figure out how keep track of when I feed her and put her down for naps, we could start working on that whole sleeping-thru-the-night thing...
