We went apple picking at a lovely farm called Larriland Farm, with Mom and Dad Deterding and Jimmy and Laura. It was hard for me to carry a sack of apples, side-step the fallen fruit on the ground, keep an eye on Grace, and take pictures all at the same time-- but we did get a few keepers! This is just one of them. We've been pretty busy around here, and one or more Deterding has been sick for the past week or so. Steve seemed like he was on the mend but is now in bed with a cough and headache (uh oh......), and coming up this week we have an appointment with the allergist for Leah (to determine what's causing her eczema), preparations for four photo shoots this weekend (one of them is a wedding!), and I've got to do something with all these apples we picked! Any suggestions or tried-and-true recipes? My initial plan was to make and can apple butter, but I don't have any canning supplies. I'm open to trying something else.

Beautiful picture of Grace!! Apple crisp will get rid of about 8 apples...email me if you want the recipe!
